FAQs

I work with small business owners, growing organizations, nonprofits, and public or quasi-public organizations (including school districts). Some clients need quick HR guidance; others need audits, fractional HR leadership, or help managing more complex people operations. If you have employees and HR risk, I’m probably a fit.
-
Both. You can work with me for:
Ongoing or fractional HR support
Short-term projects (handbooks, audits, compliance reviews, investigations support, process design)
One-off HR questions or strategy sessions
You don’t need to commit to a long-term contract to get help.

Rates are based on the complexity and risk level of your organization. Most ongoing support and fractional HR work is billed hourly. Larger projects and audits are scoped in advance and priced based on estimated hours and deliverables.
This keeps pricing fair for small businesses while allowing me to properly support more complex organizations.
-
Yes. I regularly partner with internal HR teams, executive leaders, and boards to provide extra capacity, audits, compliance reviews, and specialized project support. I’m not here to replace your HR team — I’m here to support them when workload, risk, or complexity increases.
-
Absolutely. I conduct HR audits, compliance gap reviews, policy and documentation clean-ups, and risk assessments. This includes helping leadership understand where exposure exists and what to fix first.
-
Yes. Fractional HR is a good fit for organizations that need consistent, strategic HR support but aren’t ready for a full-time hire. This can include leadership support, compliance oversight, manager coaching, policy development, and people operations planning.
-
Both. Some clients want guidance and coaching. Others want the work done for them — policies written, processes built, documentation cleaned up, or audits completed. We’ll clarify expectations upfront so you know exactly what you’re getting.
-
Yes. I provide support with workplace investigations, employee relations issues, documentation, and compliance-driven decisions. If legal counsel is needed, I’ll coordinate with your attorney so HR and legal stay aligned.
-
Yes. I support organizations with multiple locations, growth plans, regulatory requirements, or higher risk profiles. If your HR feels more complex than “basic people stuff,” that’s usually a sign you’re a good fit for my project or fractional support model.
-
Yes. I periodically offer special packages for common needs like handbooks, hiring toolkits, and compliance clean-ups. These are designed for organizations that want professional HR structure without ongoing support. Availability and scope vary.
-
It depends on current capacity and the scope of your needs. Smaller requests can usually start quickly. Larger projects and audits require a brief scoping conversation first so timelines and deliverables are clear from day one.
-
That’s common. Start with a short consult and we’ll figure out whether ongoing support, a scoped project, or an audit makes the most sense. You don’t need to have the solution figured out before reaching out.
-
No long-term contracts are required. Ongoing or fractional support is typically month-to-month. Projects are scoped with clear deliverables and timelines so you know exactly what you’re committing to before work begins.
