Hi, I’m Rachelle.
MS, SPHR — HR therapist, employment law encyclopedia, people planner, risk manager, keeper of the templates, investigator of workplace weirdness, and organizer of workplace chaos.

Why this work
Helping people, in a way that’s practical and affordable.
My passion is helping organizations with their people — and doing it in a way that’s practical and affordable. I believe no organization is too big, too small, too new, or too established to grow a healthy work culture and a strong employer brand.
Being a sounding board for good-hearted leaders is what I genuinely love to do, and how I make a difference in my little corner of the world. It’s important and meaningful work, and I’d be honored to be part of your journey.
Is she qualified though?
You probably found your way here through the magic of networking, online or in person. You’re smart to do your homework before you let someone into your circle of trust. Here’s what the letters behind my name stand for, and what qualifies me to be helpful to you.
Education
My Master’s degree is in Human Resource Development from Indiana State, and my Bachelor’s is in English Literature and Liberal Arts from Rocky Mountain College.
“HR Development” is technically an expertise in cultivating employee talent, enhancing organizational performance, and managing change through training, learning strategies, and leadership development. I’m also specifically trained in using data to drive strategic growth and managing complex HR issues in the public sector.
Meanwhile I use that lit degree to write beautiful policies for you and to edit the living crap out of everything.
Certification
The SPHR stands for Senior Professional in Human Resources — an accreditation by the HR Certification Institute that requires passing a rigorous exam, at least four years of verified professional HR experience, a master’s degree, and 60 continuing education credits every three years. You can be confident that your people strategies are built on current law, current studies, and current best practices.
Experience
I once met a sexual harasser in a strip club parking lot to get his work keys back.
- I once climbed onto a two-story metal rooftop to learn how to better train a window cleaner.
- I once received a resume that listed meth distributor as a previous job.
- I once had to tell a guy not to shop for mesh banana hammocks at work.
- I once resolved a three-person virtual cat fight in less than two sentences.
Fifteen years in this field. There is literally nothing you could confide about your workplace that would scare me.
Our promise
Three things you can count on from us, every time.
Caring.
We care about our clients and their vision. A lot. Which means we'll be honest and kind, even when we have to tell you things you don't want to hear. We care about doing what's right and want to work with others who do too.
Affordable.
We'll work within your budget and be conscious of your costs. That looks like ending calls on time, giving options at different price points, being forthright about our rates, teaching you to do things yourself where it makes sense, and refusing to upsell or spam you.
Learning.
This field is ever-changing. We don't pretend to know it all, but we do promise to keep educating ourselves — and to use that knowledge to help you grow an employer brand and a work culture you're proud of.
